The School of Public Health at the University of Liège, in cooperation with the university hospital, is taking part in a major project on the prevention of cardiovascular disease within the grand region of Sarre-Lor-Lux, the Rhineland Palatinate and Wallonia.
In the context of NESCAV (Nutrition, Environment and Cardiovascular health), 10,000 people in the province of Liège, representing the population between 20 and 69 will receive an invitation at the end of April to go to one of the partner medical centers in the enquiry and the volunteers will benefit from a free, confidential and complete medical examination including, notably, an innovative analysis of the pollutants to which they are exposed in their daily lives.
This is one of the biggest cardiovascular health enquiries in the Walloon country since the 1980s. Subsequent enquiries using an identical questionnaire and method of analysis will provide an image of a large section of the cardiovascular health of the population.
