La médecine translationnelle constitue aujourd'hui un pan essentiel de la recherche médicale. C'est pour répondre à la nécessité d'en développer les compétences que le Centre d'Innovations Médicales (CIM) a été installé au CHU de Liège, avec pour mission de créer une synergie entre les chercheurs et les cliniciens, le tout au service du patient.
