We are primarily concerned with the development of new methods and devices for biotechnological processes. The field of our main research interest is represented by three research groups: Shaken Bioreactor Technology: Our research in this field is focused on the characterization of the culture conditions in small scale culture systems and the development of new measuring devices. Fermentation Technology: This research area is primarily concerned with the investigation of mass transfer phenomena in bioreactors. Additional aspects are fl uid dynamics as well as mass and energy balancing and control and modelling of biological processes.
